The 2000 Chardonnay Charles Ranch exhibits a surprisingly evolved color, and high acidity. It is somewhat monolithic, and the acids are poking through, giving it a tartness atypical for Martinelli. This was the last Chardonnay vineyard to be harvested in 2000, and perhaps it never achieved the ripeness of the other vineyards.
