About 75% of the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc Estate is from this site. Melons, lemon oil, honeyed grapefruit, and quince aromas jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, fresh Sauvignon. Revealing crisp, zingy acidity as well as a touch of minerals, this beauty should drink well for several years. Most of the grapes are from the winery’s original 1959 planting. It’s a beautiful, refined Sauvignon Blanc, brimming with lemon and lime, freshly mowed green grass and tangy green apple flavors. Partial barrel fermentation adds a creamy complexity. The wine is totally dry and bright in acidity, but it’s really the fruit that stars. ——S.H.(8/1/2006)—— 92
