The Gran Reservas spent 18 months in French oak, some new, followed by 18 months in seasoned American oak. The 2000 Gran Reserva is medium to dark ruby with some aged character in the aromatics. There are notes of cedar, mineral, tobacco, and blackberry leading to a supple-textured but lean (some would say elegant) wine with attractive flavors and a silky finish. Drink it over the next 6 years. Importer: HAB North America; tel. (312) 208-0488
