Lastly, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Réserve is a Syrah-dominated blend that spent 20 months in foudre. It’s inky ruby color is followed by a classic southern Rh?ne Syrah nose of black olives, smoked dark fruits, gamy meats and licorice. Full-bodied, concentrated and with sweet tannin, it’s less charming than the Cuvée du Baron release, yet still has tons the love and will evolve nicely going forward through 2026.
