Though Sauvignon is not an emphasis here, Fromm does produce a pretty good one that’s fermented and matured in older oak barrels. The 2008 La Strada Sauvignon Blanc displays stony/chalky aromas with notes of grapefruit peel, lemongrass plus touches of fresh herbs and green apple. Light to medium bodied, it is well balanced with nice crisp acid – a more delicate expression for this region. The finish is long. Drink it now to 2012.
