The 2009 Vinya Palau Merlot, from a vineyard planted in 1991, is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and has a sweet nose of cassis, bell pepper, cranberries and nutmeg, with some lactic overtones. The palate is medium-bodied, with polished tannins, easy to drink. Drink now.
