Pride has also acquitted itself brilliantly with one of the grapes that proved the undoing for a number of California wineries – Sangiovese. The 2012 Sangiovese (only available in 500 ml bottles) came in at 14.4% natural alcohol, and is a blend of 87% Sangiovese and 13% Merlot. Lots of vivid strawberry, black cherry, new saddle leather, tobacco leaf and spice box are present in this complex, medium-bodied, supple, impressively endowed effort.
