The 2012 Friuli Colli Orientali Friulano is a gorgeous expression of the grape with a pronounced mineral preface that slowly gives way to pear, melon and Golden Delicious apple. The wine shows outstanding density and richness in the mouth. It would pair with spicy Thai dishes with citric accents or pungent aromas of basil or lemongrass. Drink: 2014-2016. Ipplis is a little town near Cividale del Friuli located at the middle half of the elongated north-south Friuli Colli Orientali appellation. Vineyards blanket the landscape and soils are primarily composed of marl sandstone making for bolder aromatic tendencies in the wines. Ermacora is one of the bigger estates with 75 hectares of vine.
