This wine continues to develop impressively in the bottle. While not one of the vintage's blockbusters, it possesses all the classic elegance, fragrance, and harmony one expects of a high quality Margaux. The color remains a healthy dark ruby with a purple hue. The nose offers up lush, sweet, jammy black currant fruit intermixed with aromas of white flowers, spice, and a touch of smoky oak. It is medium-bodied, with a savory, expansive mouthfeel. This low acid, rich, multi-layered wine is approachable, yet capable of evolving gracefully. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010. Last tasted 3/97
