Collosorbo's 2017 Sant'Antimo Rosso Giovanna Ciacci is a blend of Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a hearty and dark wine that opens to savory aromas of leather and cured bresaola meat. It's all a bit much, as the wine ends with a heavy and somewhat syrupy element that must come from the vintage heat. It is textured and thick, with a broad and loosely knit texture that sits heavy over the palate. Some 25,000 bottles were made, and this wine was released in July 2019.
