A new offering, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Herrick Vineyard exhibits Howell Mountain’s floral, blueberry style with big texture, high tannin, and loads of concentration. Slightly more restrained than the typical B and H offering, this impressive Cabernet will drink well for 10-15 years. I admire what Les Behrens, Bob Hitchcock, their wives, friends, and lunatic dog are doing at their winery and cellars on the top of Spring Mountain.
