The 2008 Gewurztraminer Movado shows considerable richness, but never comes together in the glass. The up-front juiciness of the fruit drops off quickly on the mid-palate, revealing hard, angular elements that dominate the wine’s balance. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. These are the first wines I have tasted from Cantina Andrian. The entry-level wines are clean, well-made and offer good varietal character, but little in the way of true excitement.
