The 2017 Alto Adige Vernatsch Bocado is a light, ruby colored red wine to drink with easy pasta dishes topped with butter or cream. Overseas palates might not appreciate the Schiava grape that does not offer any meaningful measure of richness or density. However, locals in Alto Adige love it, especially because of the wine's ability to cut though the fatty bacon and speck flavors in local mountain cuisine. The wine offers bright cherry bitterness on the close with fresh berry flavors. Only 8,000 bottles were produced in this vintage.
