The 2009 Blanc de Montsalvat is a blend of 70% Macabeu and 30% of the rarely seen Trepat Blanc, fermented in steel with two months barrel aging. The nose is distinctive: pineapple, toffee apple and touches of nougat with very good lift. The palate is well-balanced with good weight, offering subtle toffee notes infusing the honey-tinged flavor profile, and crisp acidity keeping everything tight and focused right up to the finish. This is a lovely white Priorat. Drink now-2016.
