Vibrant red berries, smoke, licorice, menthol and French oak come together beautifully in the estate’s 2007 Canaiolo. Like so many wines in this vintage, the Canaiolo is soft, opulent and totally open for business. The oak could use another year or two in bottle to integrate, but there is no denying the wine’s sexiness and sheer appeal. A round, creamy finish lingers on the palate. La Paneretta made fewer than 400 bottles of the Canaiolo, but hopefully that will change in the future?.as long as this level of quality can be maintained. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025.
