The Castello di Neive 2013 Dolcetto d'Alba Basarin is loud and boisterous. The aromas are dark and rich with dried blackberry fruit followed by blanched almond, natural spice and candied blueberry.

The 2011 Dolcetto d’Alba Basarin is a straightforward wine, but give it a minute of contemplation, and zesty spice with ripe blackberry aromas pop with intensity from the bouquet. The 2007 Dolcetto d’Alba Basarin is a very pretty and harmonious Dolcetto. There is a bright, floral quality to the red fruit I find particularly attractive, while the soft finish gives the wine an additional measure of elegance.
