The 2012 Cayus Selección is pure Garnacha from selected, head-pruned, high-altitude vineyards which was aged for 8-10 months in French oak barrels. The nose points at a serious Garnacha, quite ripe but without excess, black and red fruit, some earthy and toast notes, hints of spices and aromatic herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied with some grainy tannins that would benefit from one extra year in bottle. Only 4,000 bottles are produced.
