The 2010 Seleccion Garnacha has a very ripe, Beaujolais-like bouquet bursting with simple, yet joyful dark cherry fruit. The palate is clean and rounded with touches of bubble gum and red cherries on the finish. But you will not care about that as you gulp this down with a pizza in front of the TV. Delicious. Santo Cristo is a co-operative located in the village of Ainzon. They own over 900 hectares of vineyard, the Seleccion being a pick of the best parcels. The 2009 Santo Cristo Seleccion Garnacha (bottled in screw up, still a rarity in conservative Spain) is one of them. Dark ruby red in color with a fragrant perfume of pure cherries, on the palate it is savory, easy-going, and a terrific value for drinking over the next 3 years.
