The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly offers up aromas of pear, white flowers, toasted hazelnuts, beeswax and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and tightly wound palate that's racier and more incisive than the open, succulent Sur Gamay.

The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly was also bottled before harvest 2019, and it's also quite expressive. Wafting from the glass with aromas of white flowers, pear and blanched almonds, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, with a more tensile and mineral profile than its Sur Gamay sibling.

More serious than the Sur Gamay is the 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly, one of the finest renditions of this bottling that Moreau has produced to date. Wafting from the glass with aromas of wheat toast, green pear and white flowers, the wine is medium to full-bodied with chalky structure, bright acids and excellent tension and reserve at the core.

The 2016 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly, which was taken from tank and fined, has quite a powerful, well-defined, lemon zest and walnut-scented bouquet that just springs from the glass. The palate is well defined with hints of blackcurrant complementing the malic fruit, with a touch of spiciness coming through on the finish. Very fine—one of the best from Alex Moreau this year.

The 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly had just been fined and will be bottled December or January. It has a lovely, mineral-rich, quite intense bouquet with subtle white peach and citrus notes blossoming in the glass. The palate is very well balanced, crisp and precise, tightly coiled but gently fanning out towards the finish with delicate lemon curd and dried orange peel notes, all with an underlying mineralité.
