The 2016 Petit Chablis has a fresh flinty and granite-scented bouquet that needs more intensity, although there is a sense of focus here. The palate is quite tropical on the entry, with touches of dried mango and blackcurrant leaf, but it finishes very quickly and just lacks a sense of presence.

The 2015 Petit Chablis has improved since I tasted it 12 months ago. It has a decent bouquet within its category, with mineral scents that are fresh and well defined. The palate is well balanced with a slightly peachy opening, a neat thread of acidity and a tropical finish that might feel a bit…obvious, but it is clean and with more flavor than many.

The 2014 Petit Chablis has an earthy, orange sorbet-tinged bouquet that is pleasant, albeit not a Petit Chablis that conveys regional typicité. The palate is balanced and full in the mouth with citrus peel and orange zest. I like the weight here, the energy, even if the finish is relatively simple compared to Chablis Village this year.

The 2013 Petit Chablis has weathered better than its peers on the nose with beeswax and lemon curd scents. The palate is fresh and clean on the entry with a fine acidic threat, plenty of citrus fruit and subtle tropical notes that do not obstruct the terroir expression. This deserves a round of applause - just as it did last year!

The 2012 Petit Chablis has a generous bouquet with grapefruit and freshly mowed grass aromas, although it does not possess the delineation of its peers.
