A terrific value, the 2003 Cotes de Provence explodes from the glass with sultry red cherry and ripe plum aromas. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, this powerful, medium to full-bodied wine displays oodles of fleshy, immensely satisfying fruit flavors. Blackberries, dark cherries, cassis, and sappy plums can be found in this rich effort. Its finish reveals a tannic, slightly rustic edge that demands some cellaring. This excellent domaine has turned out a delicious 1993 Cotes de Provence made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, and Syrah from a vineyard situated at one of the highest altitudes in Provence. The resulting wine exhibits a dark ruby color, and an excellent nose of curranty fruit, Provencal herbs, and spicy oak. Supple and round, it is ideal for drinking over the next 3-4 years.
