The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape La Ferme du Mont is excellent, with black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with a bit of cedar, spice box, and Provencal herbs. It is dark ruby, medium-bodied, tasty, forward, and ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years.
We can thank Coralie Goumarre, the winegrower and the winemaker of this estate, for these lovely wines, which I think include a couple of cuvees that may be negociant blends, but I wasn’t able to verify that prior to writing this report. Whatever the case may be, these are serious Chateauneuf du Papes.
