The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape La Ferme du Mont is excellent, with black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with a bit of cedar, spice box, and Provencal herbs. It is dark ruby, medium-bodied, tasty, forward, and ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years. We can thank Coralie Goumarre, the winegrower and the winemaker of this estate, for these lovely wines, which I think include a couple of cuvees that may be negociant blends, but I wasn’t able to verify that prior to writing this report. Whatever the case may be, these are serious Chateauneuf du Papes. No known American importer.

The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape La Ferme du Mont is all of the 2006 plus has more structure, more density, and a bit more meat and richness to it, making it just slightly more complete and potentially longer lived ...10-12 years.
