One of the Cotes du Ventoux’s top estates, Murmurium has produced three fresh, lively, beautifully-knit cuvees with loads of fruit, undeniable elegance, and plenty of power and definition. Raspberry, cherry, and kirsch notes emerge from the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Cotes du Ventoux Carpe Diem. Possessing elegance and finesse, it displays cool climate, beautifully knit flavors along with a Pinot Noir-like sensuality and complexity. It should drink well for 5-6 years. No known American importer.

The 2003 Cotes du Ventoux Carpe-Diem was fashioned from minuscule yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare for the Grenache (50% of the blend) and 15 hectoliters per hectare for the Syrah (50% of the blend). This 11,000-bottle cuvee was aged 12 months in barrel, of which 40% is new. Reminiscent of a mini-Hermitage from southern France, it boasts a saturated purple color as well as blockbuster concentration and richness, high alcohol, medium to full body, and surprising freshness for its size and extract. It will deliver glorious drinking between 2006-2012. No known American importer.
