Bursting with aromas of red berries, plums, peonies, spices and marmalade, the 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village is medium-bodied, fleshy and perfumed, with good depth at the core and a mouthwatering finish.

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village exhibits aromas of peonies, plums, spices and rose petals, framed by a discreet touch of acetate. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and youthfully chewy, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish, I suspect it may resolve with further élevage, but for now, it's one of the less scrutable wines in the range.

Mingling aromas of peonies and plums with hints of wintergreen and bergamot, Bize's 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village is medium to full-bodied, lively and perfumed, with an ample core of bright, succulent fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with a long, saline finish. In other words, it's representative of the domaine's exquisitely charming range this year.

Richer and more powerful than its 2019 counterpart, Bize's 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village evokes ripe raspberries, rose petals and rich spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, it's a textural, fleshy wine with a deep core of fruit. Readers that privilege finesse and perfume will gravitate toward 2019; those that admire muscle and power will favor 2018.

The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village is very pretty, bursting with aromas of cherries, red berries, peonies and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fresh core of fruit and supple, melting tannins. This will drink well on release.
