The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has been a consistent performer at the domaine. It has a clean and precise bouquet although it does not quite convey the same energy and fruit concentration as the Morey-Saint-Denis. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, elegant and bright with tart red fruit with a tang of spice towards the finish. This seems to meliorate as it goes on.

The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Village has a slightly more exotic bouquet compared to both the Morey Saint Denis and the Chambolle Musigny, perhaps the vintage character impressing more upon the character of the wine here? The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, vivacious raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, good depth with a touch of pepper on the composed finish. Enjoy this very well-crafted Gevrey-Chambertin over the next 4-7 years.

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages has an elegant, quite mineral-led bouquet considering it is a village cru. This is a complex bouquet that deserves a light round of applause and there is appreciable transparency here. The palate is sorbet-fresh on the entry with orange zest infusing the red cherry fruit, slightly chalky in texture with a dash of spice on the linear finish. Very fine.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a sense of airiness on the nose. There is fine transparency here, very terroir-driven. The palate has a minerally entry, fine acidity, slightly rustic red fruit, with tart cherries popping up on the cohesive finish. This is a decent Gevrey-Chambertin Village that is well crafted, but just lacks a little length.

According to my records, I did not taste the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Village at the domaine, but it is turning into a lovely wine. Here, it has a generous bouquet with quite flamboyant red cherry and fresh strawberry scents that oozes Pinote. The palate is sensual in the mouth with soft tannins, a fine line of acidity and a very natural, nigh irresistible, finish. Lovely. Drink now-2017. Importers: Winebow, Montvale, NJ; tel.
