The 1998 Zinfandel Old Vines, displays a dark ruby color as well as an intriguing nose of roasted peanuts, spicy oak, soft, peppery, berry and cherry fruit, and a medium-bodied, dense, soft, fleshy texture. This pure, ripe, moderately weighted Zinfandel is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years.Tel. (707) 963-1534

Initial releases from this winery have all been interesting and well-made wines. The 1995 Zinfandel Old Vines is more open and one-dimensional than the 1995 Max Cuvee. This medium deep ruby-colored wine offers uncomplicated berry fruit in a medium-bodied, spicy, slightly rustic format. As in the Merlot, the tannin may be too elevated for the amount of sweet fruit.
