Initial releases from this winery have all been interesting and well-made wines. The newest offerings include a tannic, tough-textured, dark ruby-colored 1995 Merlot. The wine is tightly-knit and unexpressive. Nevertheless, there is good glycerin, ripeness, and richness, but the tannin level may be too elevated for the wine's fruit extraction. Dusty, sweet berry fruit is intermixed with wood and earth in this medium-bodied wine. It should keep for a decade, but whether it will achieve perfect harmony remains to be seen. Tel.
