The 2007 RESERVA “CASTELO DO SULCO” is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Syrah, aged for three months in oak. Light and bright, it has ripe tannins around the edges, giving it an elegant and precise feel to go with its intense flavors. It lacks much mid-palate concentration and it is the type of wine that will not be at peak very long, even if it holds a bit longer. In its youth, though, it is a pretty nice deal as it has enough structure and enough of a backbone to be real wine. It should be very nice this summer. Drink now-2012.
