The 2006 RESERVA “MONTARIA” is a blend of Syrah, Trincadeira and Aragones. This is pleasant enough and tasty, but it does have a somewhat sweet and candied finish. It is also straightforward and one dimensional, with modest structure and little mid-palate concentration. In its price range, it is an acceptable, easy-drinking wine that might be a party favorite. It is a pretty decent performance in the context of its price and this difficult vintage. Drink now-2012.
