The 2010 Sauvignon Praesulis impresses for its balance and overall harmony. Varietal notes abound in this expressive, mid-weight Sauvignon. There is plenty of energy and depth in the glass, along with bright citrus, floral and mineral notes that punctuate the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Markus Prackwieser runs this small winery that peeks out of the steep hillsides of the Valle Isarco. The 2007 Sauvignon Praesulis shows the greener side of the grape in its bouquet, along with notes of tomato leaf, sage, mint and white peaches. Although the wine shows good balance, the aromas and flavors are slightly on the aggressive side. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
