These offerings, from the under-rated, but potentially outstanding Livermore Valley viticultural region, are remarkably full-flavored. Also impressive is the 1991 Fume Blanc. Concentrated and intense, it offers a big nose of honey, melon, figs, and herbs, full body, luscious fruit, and excellent richness. It, too, should do wonders with full-flavored poultry and seafood dishes.

This wine, from the underrated, but potentially outstanding Livermore Valley, is remarkably full-flavored. Readers tired of so many insipid and watery California wines will not want to miss out on this terrific bargain. Even more impressive than the Trevviano is the 1989 Fume Blanc. One of the more concentrated and intense Fumes I have tasted from California, it offers a huge nose of honey, melon, figs, and herbs. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with luscious fruit, and plenty of richness and personality. If you are looking for a subdued, understated Fume, this is not the wine for you. Again, it should do wonders with full-flavored poultry and seafood dishes. This is amont the best wines I have yet to taste from this winery founded by Ivan Tamas and Steve Mirassou in 1984.
