The 2005 La Provencale, a blend of 48% Mourvedre and the rest Syrah, Grenache, Carignane, and Viognier, possesses a peppery, roasted Provencal herb character with plenty of spice, sweet cherries, and currants. This medium-bodied Cotes du Rhone look-alike can be enjoyed over the next several years. Unfortunately, Jade Mountain, one of the original as well as finest Rhone Ranger estates, is no longer making wines as good as they were in the past. However, they are still producing competent efforts, as evidenced by these two 2005s.Tel. (877) 254-4250; Fax (888) 231-5028
