The 1996 Marsanne et Viognier possesses an uncomplex, fruit cocktail-like nose, medium body, good purity, but not a great deal of aromatic dimension or flavor complexity. It is a nice, chunky, straightforward wine to drink over the next year.Overall, the new releases from Jade Mountain tasted far less impressive than previous efforts, but there are some enticing wines in this portfolio.Tel. The only white wine in the portfolio, the 1995 Marsanne et Viognier, exhibits an attractive waxy, honeyed, citrusy nose, rich, medium to full-bodied, fleshy flavors, some spice, an exotic character, and a long, fleshy finish. This attractive, individually-styled wine should work well with a multitude of culinary offerings. Moreover, the price is uncommonly fair. This outstanding wine should drink well for 12-18 months.The current vintages were released in July, 1994. They are immensely impressive wines that combine the rare virtues of superb quality and modest price.
