From the lieu-dit, or vineyard, known as Signargues, it was aged completely in tank (both stainless steel and concrete), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. This big, chunky, robust, dense ruby/purple-colored 2010 reveals abundant blackberry and cassis fruit notes, not the complexity of some of Solomon’s other cuvees, but a fruit-forward, sexy, lush style. There is some noticeable tannin in the finish, a characteristic of 2010 even at the lowest quality levels. This wine can often be found for around $12 a bottle, so buy this one by the caseful. It should drink nicely for 2-3 years.
An alluring selection from this well-known co-op south of Chateauneuf du Pape, this is a custom cuvee selected by Eric Solomon from some of their oldest Grenache parcels.
