The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Bio, so named because all of the fruit is grown organically, is a lovely bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape. It's 70% to 80% Grenache and 20% to 30% Syrah, according to Chapoutier, all grown on estate plots. It offers compelling notes of white pepper to go along with ripe cherries and ground spices. It's full-bodied, with a creamy mid-palate and a long, plush finish. Drink it over the next 5-8 years.

Made from a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Bio comes from a mix of clay and rolled stone soils and spent 16 months in concrete tanks before being bottled unfined and unfiltered (as are all of the cuvées here). It has an elegant, refined and silky style as well as beautiful notes of savory cherries, blackberries, truffle and Proven?al garrigue. Drink this medium-bodied, impressive 2014 anytime over the coming 6-7 years.

I again preferred the 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Bio to the La Bernardine cuvee. It incorporates more Syrah (which did better in the vintage) and has impressive quantities of blackberry, peppery herbs, underbrush and minerality. Medium to full-bodied, inky colored and richly textured with solid concentration, it should have 10-12 or more years of longevity.

Coming all from biodynamically farmed vineyards, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Bio is a medium to full-bodied, soft, fruity, yet elegant effort that exhibits notes of cherry blossom, black raspberry, ground pepper and plenty of rocky, mineral qualities. Relatively forward and ready to go, I love it for its wealth of fruit and texture. Enjoy this beauty over the coming 5-7 years.
