The superb 1997 Barolo Vigna Conca is backward, powerful, and concentrated. The color is a dark garnet, and the nose offers up aromas of smoke, meat, dried herbs, black fruits, earth, and spices. Dense, full-bodied, concentrated, powerful, and structured, it requires 2-3 more years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2016.
