The 1997 Semillon could easily pass as a more unctuous example of a dry Chateau d'Yquem. It boasts a deep golden color, as well as waxy, knock-out aromatics, honeyed, full-bodied, extremely rich flavors, a dry finish, and a viscosity and flavor intensity that might well be unprecedented. Since I have no experience with how this wine ages, I am not comfortable making predictions, but certainly it possesses the alcohol and extract to live beyond a few years.Importer: Dan Phillips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel.
