The organic Nittardi 2019 Chianti Classico Belcanto (with 10,000 bottles made) is 90% Sangiovese with a blend of complementary indigenous grapes. The wine offers plenty of bright fruit, cherry, plum and wild rose. To the palate, it shows softly extracted results and nice density that underline mouthfeel and texture. Most of the fruit for this solid entry-level proposition comes from the estate's historic Villa Rosa Vineyard.

This entry-level wine from Nittardi shows warm tones of potting soil, rusty nail, ripe cherry and wild rose. The 2017 Chianti Classico Belcanto offers all the basic aromas you should expect from Sangiovese (blended here with 10% various indigenous grapes). The wine offers extra intensity, layering and exuberance in a hot vintage such as this. This vintage happily shows better results than recent past editions. Serve it with a lamb ragù. Most of the fruit to make this wine comes from the Villa Rosa vineyard in Castellina with old vines planted in 1968. Some 30,000 bottles were made, and you get great value here.
