Even though it was made with 19% Merlot, the 2018 Cabernet Franc Rosa Mystica is unmistakable in the glass with elements of roasted red and green peppers, sautéed plums, cherry skin and dusty flowers. Medium-bodied, the wine offers a balanced structure with lively acidity and succulent tannins before concluding with an evolving and lingering finish. Just over 16,000 bottles were filled after the wine rested for 17 months in French oak, all neutral vessels. The 2008 Cabernet Franc Rosa Mystica contains 5% Merlot. The majority of fruit was sourced from the Red Willow Vineyard and aged in 40% new French oak for 13 months. Medium ruby with an aged appearance, it is exceptionally herbaceous in the style of a Loire Valley wine. On the palate it is very easy-going, soft and lacking structure.
