This is red-fruited with notes of cedar, walnut and licorice with some crushed stone minerality to it. Medium- to full-bodied, dry and a little chewy with broad tannins and juicy acidity. Slightly austere at the end. Try after 2026.

The 2014 Barolo Meriame offers a twofold delivery of dark fruit on one hand and firm structure on the other. Dried blackberry and black currant segues to spice, leather and root beer. The mouthfeel is simple and tight with a spot of soft sweetness that gives this vintage a more immediate and accessible personality.

The 2011 Barolo Meriame is a perfumed and bright expression of Nebbiolo with lots of dark cherry and black fruit. The fruit is ripe and round with lasting intensity. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 26 months. Some 8,000 bottles were made.

Round and fruity in style, featuring plum, cherry, licorice and leather flavors. Balanced, with soft, dense tannins coating the finish, where a hint of tobacco lingers. Best from 2014 through 2027. 660 cases made.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barolo Select to Add
