The outstanding 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Chasse-Temps is a blend of tank-aged Grenache (70%) and Mourvedre (30%). This wine is less animal than it was last year, revealing plenty of sweet kirsch liqueur, raspberry, licorice, smoke, herb, and roasted meat notes. Dense, full-bodied, moderately tannic, and in need of 2-3 years of bottle age, it is a real vin de garde and should keep 10-15 years.
