The 2004 COROA D’OURO RESERVA is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cao, a classic Douro blend, in other words. It is a pretty good value. While not as deep or lush as the Novus, also reviewed here, it is cheaper, more elegant, bright and beautifully balanced. It is a bit short, and it does fade faster, becoming less rather than more interesting with time, but it is pretty nice in its price range. Drink now-2011. Importers: HGC Imports, San Jose, CA.; tel.
