Podere Rocche dei Manzoni implements a long aging period that takes the wine through 30 months of barrique and a brief time in cement egg. This allows it time to settle and better integrate. The 2012 Barolo also sees a slightly shorter maceration time (fermentation on the skins) for a tight and compact style compared to the single-vineyard releases. The bouquet is tightly wrapped at the beginning, but it opens beautifully within a short time in the glass.

The 2011 Barolo delivers ripe fruit characteristics with dark cherry and sweet blackberry that give the wine a prominent profile of dark fruit. This is a common characteristic of this hot vintage. However, this wine also shows good focus and an elegantly polished style that reminds you of the pedigree of the noble Nebbiolo grape. Some 25,000 bottles are made.
