A certified organic wine, the 2020 Chianti Classico (with 40,000 bottles produced) shows a darker hue compared to the 2019 vintage that I tasted at the same time. This hot vintage is also riper and sweeter with strawberry and dark raspberry. The wine's personality is sultry and more full-bodied compared to the previous vintage. The blend is 90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot and 5% Canaiolo.

The organic 2019 Chianti Classico is 90% Sangiovese with tiny parts Merlot and Canaiolo from schistous galestro soils in Barberino Tavarnelle. This wine is remembered for its fine texture and the fresh quality of its aromas with dark fruit, earth and plum. This ends with an elegant, mid-weight mouthfeel. This is a production of 40,000 bottles.

Made with certified organic fruit, the Poggio al Sole 2018 Chianti Classico is simple and fruit-forward with wild cherry and strawberry, followed up by forest bramble and a touch of green olive. This is an easy and informal wine to pair with a wood fired pizza with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella. Drink this wine within the next three years.

Loam, almond, wild herb and iron notes surround a core of cherry and raspberry flavors in this pliable red. Vibrant, with light, dusty tannins imparting dryness to the finish.
