The 2008 Touriga Nacional Reserva was aged for 10 months in new French oak. At this moment, the oak is far too prominent on this wine and mars the generally good impression it makes for its otherwise impeccable balance and good acidity. It is hard to find the fruit, though, under the vanilla. Perhaps with another 6-12 months in the cellar this will settle down. Even with the oak overlay, there is a lot here to like and if the wine can absorb that vanilla a bit, this may equal or exceed the lovely 2007. Drink now-2016. Importer: Tri-Vin Imports, Mt.
