The 2004 “Escada d’Oro” is sweet and sappy, and of moderate depth. It has a lovely nose, and with air, it rounds into a flavorful wine. The structure is modest, but the flavors are intense, perhaps laced with a hint of kirsch. Aeration does make it seem a bit more normal – and also a bit routine. For short to mid-term drinking, this is pleasant. Drink now-2010. This winery was purchased in 1992 by Vincent Bouchard, of the famous Bouchard family in Burgundy. Jorges Alves, who also makes wines at Quanta Terra, separately listed, is the winemaker.Importer: Artisan Wines & Spirits (formerly Bock), San Francisco, CA.; tel. (415) 834-9675
