The finest of these three Savigny premiers crus is the 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Guettes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping wine that's evocative of cherries, peonies, espresso roast and blood orange. Charming and complete, it will offer a broad drinking window.

This Savigny is not inspiring. This 1985 red is a soundly made, correct wine. The wines have more tart acidity at Remoissenet than elsewhere, as well as more noticeable alcohol levels and tannins. It is, like virtually all 1985s, well colored.
