Dark ruby at its core, the 2018 Uriah starts firm and dusty in the glass with a rocky essence and elements of blackberry skin, black plum and hints of oak and spice before notions of baked earth sway on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine offers a firm tannic edge that will loosen with time in the bottle. It offers succulent flavors of dark red cherry and spiced plum and a delicate mineral tension. The wine concludes with a firm, mineral-laced finish and will remain food-friendly until its 15th birthday.

A blend of 60% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Uriah has a dark ruby core with a lighter ruby edge and offers aromas of dusty cherry skin, black plum, crème de cassis and hints of dusty leather. Medium to full-bodied, sensations of juicy plum compote, blackberry skin and bitter dark chocolate sway across the palate with elements of cedar and dried tobacco before showing dusty, fine-grained tannins that linger onto the finish. The wine rested for 18 months in French oak, 25% new. Give it a try. Only 3,600 bottles were produced.

The 2016 Uriah begins with a firm, focused core of dark red and black fruit on the nose, with purple flowers and soft oak spices that waft subtly out of the glass. The medium to full-bodied palate has some strict tannins that grip with complexity across the mid-palate. The tight core is well-balanced, with a seamless expression of soft, dusty cherry skin and black plum essence that lingers long on the finish. A blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2015 Uriah exhibits aromas of rich berry fruit and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, ripe but tangy, with moderate concentration, powdery tannins and bright balancing acids.

A wine with plenty of upside, the 2014 Uriah checks in as a blend of 56% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and the rest Malbec. Loads of currants, plums. chocolate, and leafy herbs emerge from the glass, and this beauty is medium+ bodied, nicely textured and has integrated acidity. It drops offer faster on the finish than I'd like, but it seems young and slightly unevolved, so give it a year of bottle age.
