This wine opens to a lean and bright appearance with a very pale, gold-tainted pigment. The 2019 Bolgheri Vermentino Caccia al Palazzo shows citrus, green apple, peach and a touch of papaya on what is a fun and informal bouquet that could work with take-out Thai green curry. You might also taste a hint of dried sage or mint. Some 14,000 bottles were made.

The 2017 Bolgheri Vermentino Caccia al Palazzo is another stripped-down wine from Tenuta di Vaira. It's a very simple expression of the local white variety, but that seems to be consistent across the vintages. There are some light notes of cinnamon at the back of citrus and green papaya. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

The 2016 Bolgheri Vermentino Caccia Al Palazzo offers ripe aromas of cantaloupe melon with peach, candied orange and honey. The wine is mild in intensity and it offers just enough fiber and creaminess to pair with fried calamari rings or spicy sushi. Some 10,500 bottles were produced.

The 2013 Bolgheri Vermentino Caccia Al Palazzo is a fresh and streamlined white wine with easy tones of citrus and stone fruit. Vermentino is enhanced with 15% Malvasia for extra white flower aromas.

Light and luminous, the 2012 Bolgheri Vermentino Caccia al Palazzo shows easy tones of dried grass, lemon curd, green fruit and honey. There’s a touch of sweetness in the mouth followed by a pretty ensemble of stone fruit, citrus and dried herbs. The acidity is spot-on: it feels fresh and lively. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2014.
