The 2008 Tinto "Paxa" is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet. It is a big step up on the "QO," considerably more pure, with some funky hints, but not such that dominate or overwhelm the wine, as with its little brother reviewed this issue. It also, however, has much better structure, a more serious backbone and grip on the finish. It is crisp and bright, although not terribly concentrated. The mid-palate is very elegant and gives the wine a graceful feel, despite the intensity on the finish. There were approximately 1,750 cases produced. Drink now-2016.
